This dramatic free form draped vessel is created by fusing glass with 98% pure Silver foil. The handcut chilli red glass sections have been carefully aligned to create a chemical reaction with the Silver in the kiln, whilst firing at temperatures around 800 degrees Centigrade. Results are completely random and every vessel will fire differently.
Here the Silver has an abstract blackened finish with hints of pale gold.
A striking centrepiece, this Chilli and Silver vase looks stunning in the flickering flame of a tea light placed within the centre.
This sculptural art has undergone two firings in a hot kiln to complete the shape and appearance.
